Report on the event entitled "Citizens for Towns – Cultures side by side – together"

Between August 1 and 4, 2025, Kézdivásárhely hosted the international meeting entitled "Citizens for Towns – Cultures side by side – together." The aim of the program was to showcase cultural diversity and strengthen cooperation between European cities. Delegations from Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia participated in the event.
The guests arrived on the evening of August 1, where, after a warm welcome, they settled into their accommodations and began getting to know each other through informal conversations.
On Saturday morning, the participants went on a sightseeing tour. The delegation from Gyöngyös explored the historic center of Kézdivásárhely on their own, as they already feel at home in the city. The Polish and Slovak groups were accompanied by a tour guide through the city's unique courtyard structure. They visited the Reformed Church and then gained insight into the special world of the Olga Gallery, the House of Collections, and the Pharmacy Museum.
After lunch together, the participants visited the Ugron Ranch, where they joined in the opening event of the Háromszék Horse Days. At the event, the Citizen 4 Towns program itself was briefly presented to those present, and then representatives of the Ugon Ranch, which organizes the Horse Riding Days, gave a presentation to the delegations on the equestrian past of Transylvania presentation on the equestrian past and present of Transylvania, and as a good practice, they presented how a few horse riding enthusiasts came up with the idea of creating an internationally renowned civil organization engaged in a wide range of equestrian sports, and how they created and developed Ugron Ranch and its activities on their own, as a family.
During the afternoon and evening, they watched spectacular show jumping competitions, equestrian gymnastics demonstrations, archery performances, and a horse show entitled "The Legend of the Miraculous Deer." The eventful day ended with a campfire, which also provided a communal experience.
On Sunday, the participants set off at 10:00 a.m. for Perkő, where they admired the picturesque landscape and visited the historically significant St. Stephen's Chapel. The spiritual and cultural atmosphere of the place made a deep impression on the visitors. The morning tour was followed by a joint lunch at the Atrium Hotel.
The programs of the Háromszék Horse Riding Days continued in the afternoon. The fun and spectacular Battle of the Mayors began, in which the mayor of Poland also took part, to everyone's great delight, and then at 4:00 p.m., the group continued on to Bálványos, where they explored the area around the Csiszár Baths. The participants tried the medicinal mineral water baths and the mofetta, which provided a unique natural experience.
The program ended with a dinner together in the evening, after which the delegations said goodbye to each other and traveled home the next morning.
The meeting contributed to deepening the dialogue between cultures, new relationships were forged, and all participants returned home with a richer community experience. The days spent in a friendly, open atmosphere confirmed that the coexistence of different cultures is not only possible but also inspiring.
